Commissioner Highlight: Celeste Brown 

It's time for a commissioner highlight! Today, we're recognizing Celeste Brown, who works as the Project Manager, Foster Grandparent Program of SMPDD, is a commissioner with Volunteer Mississippi, and serves on the ASC Board of Directors.

"National service is one of the few spaces where policy meets people in real time. It’s not theory. It’s not rhetoric. It’s boots on the ground. It’s seniors tutoring children. It’s AmeriCorps members filling gaps in under-resourced communities. It’s everyday people deciding they are responsible for more than just themselves. I’m proud because national service strengthens civic muscle. It reminds communities that we belong to one another. In a world that feels increasingly divided, this field is proof that collaboration still works."
