Advancement

For more than 25 years, America’s Service Commissions has championed the vision of all states and territories embracing service as a strategy to build community in solving local challenges.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ASC is powered by the generous support of our members and donors. We do it for you, and we can’t do it without you!

Your contribution plays a key role in advancing the work of state service commissions and national service. It allows us to continue our work as a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing and promoting the 52 service commissions across the United States and territories.

Your generous support helps service commissions to advance their missions – and benefits the many communities and causes they serve.

Your investment in our work makes an impact by:

  • Providing trusted technical assistance, training, and resources to all service commissions
  • Supporting service commissions' efforts to expand service and volunteerism through subgrants
  • Promoting and defending service commissions and the broader national service field in the federal public policy environment
  • Empowering service commissions to advocate for their missions as well as for policies that promote and support national service
  • Coordinating and mobilizing the network of service commissions on state and federal policy issues
  • Spreading awareness about how service commissions operate, why they're so important, and the practices that make them trusted stewards who help solve community problems
