It's Giving Tuesday! Let's Thank Our #ServiceHeroes
Dear Friends,
Happy Giving Tuesday from America's Service Commissions (ASC)!
We've already had two days for getting deals – Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But today is the day for giving back. Now in its eighth year, Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world.
As we come to the close of 2019 – and the 25th anniversary of when the first class of AmeriCorps members were sworn in to serve and the creation of many state service commissions around the country – we have so much to celebrate.
But we need your help to keep the service movement strong.
Today (December 3), we ask for your support in three ways:
1) Make a donation to ASC of $25 or more in honor of that first class of AmeriCorps members who took their oath of service in 1994, and when Governors across the country made service a priority by launching state service commissions to carry on this important work in states and local communities.
2) Leave a message or photo to honor one of the #ServiceHeroes who inspires you on our Kudoboard, which you will be able to access after making a Giving Tuesday donation. Whether you want to recognize those individuals or organizations who played a part in shaping our national service history, or those who have since become #ServiceHeroes in their own right by giving a decade or more to further the field of national and community service, we welcome your contributions and messages for our archive!
3) Like and share our Giving Tuesday campaign on Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn and use the following hashtags:

Our goal is to raise $1,000 in individual donations from Giving Tuesday to support our mission to unite states in service. As the nonprofit association representing the 52 state service commissions, ASC is playing a key role in building the capacity of the state service network and ensuring strong bipartisan support of our work.
Your gift of $25 or more will help us support state service commissions and their AmeriCorps programs across the country -- and most importantly, support training and professional development opportunities for the next generation of #ServiceHeroes to come!
We also hope you will consider pledging to do more this coming year -- to give to your local state service commission or favorite AmeriCorps program, volunteer a few hours each month, or develop a new service project to help your local community in a way that's meaningful to you.
